Directions to Our Practice

If you’ve never been to our Saline location before, here are two easy routes you could take, starting from the Saline Disttrict Library: 

1. Get onto Maple Rd heading south, then turn left onto Michigan Ave. Watch for us coming up on your right a couple buildings after the Wendy’s.
2. If there’s some kind of traffic problem that direction, you could go the long way around. Take Maple Rd north, then turn right onto Woodland Dr. Turn right again onto Industrial Dr and follow it around the curve to Michigan Ave. Turn right again and watch for us coming up on your left. We’re at 1020 E Michigan Ave Suite E.

How Much Local History Do You Know?

Saline’s rich history is deeply intertwined with its natural resources and diverse cultural heritage. Before the 18th century, Native Americans utilized the area now known as Saline for hunting and gathered salt from the abundant salt springs, a vital resource for preserving food and trading. In the 18th century, French explorers were drawn to these salt springs, traveling by canoe to harvest salt and naming the local river “Saline,” which means “salty” in French.

As the 19th century unfolded, European settlers, predominantly from England and Germany, began to establish themselves in the region. Alongside Orange Risdon, a government surveyor credited as the city’s founder, these early residents founded the town of Saline in 1832. The arrival of the Detroit-Hillsdale-&-Indiana Railroad in 1870 marked a significant boost in Saline’s development, enhancing its connectivity and economic growth. 

In 1875, the community constructed the Davenport House, also known as the Curtis Mansion, a notable Second-Empire frame residence that remains a celebrated landmark. Saline continued to expand, transitioning from a village to being officially recognized as a city in 1931. Over the years, Saline has cultivated a vibrant community spirit, highlighted by its popular annual Celtic Festival, which draws visitors from across the United States and celebrates its sister city relationships with Brecon, Wales, and Lindenberg, Germany.
